  • Answer:

You would not be allowed at all. The only non-guests ever allowed on board with any cruise line, aside from the crew obviously(and the occasional government inspection), are travel agents doing ship inspections. Your friend, I hate to tell you, has either been lied to or is full of it herself.

I doubt you can do it due to tight security. If you can somehow do it it will be free. Call the line and ask.

As below have stated I know that if you are in the 'industry' they do get a chance to visit. However I also am aware the cruise lines advertise for day trips to get people to see how things are. I recnetly got an invitation from P&O for a charge or about £25.00 per person with lunch. So it may be worth you contacting the PR department of the cruise lines to see if they can arrange anything for you, as most of the liners are in Southampton weekely or at least fortnightly.

As far as I know only Princess allows visitors on a ship and that is only when you know someone that is sailing on that particular ship. I believe they charge about $40 per person which includes lunch. This is a new service which just started this spring.
