Can anyone tell me what to do when a travel agent has booked a cruise me, but will not respond to phone calls,
-
The cruise line says they can not help, because I am not the agent

Answer:
I am a travel agent. If this is happening it is not right! You are a client and therefore should be catered to and respected. Just because you are not an agent should not determine that you do not have a say in your own booking! Did you recieve a booking number from your agent for your cruise? If so, call the cruise line with your booking number and you can make payments toward, cancel, upgrade, etc. your cabin. If you did not recieve a booking number (you need to find out why!) you can call the cruise line and request your booking number. You will probably just have to verify your name and a few other things. This should work...I dont know why it wouldn't. If for some reason the agent that you speak to on the phone with the cruise line says they cannot do anything for you then ask to speak to someone in charge all the way up to the VP of the cruise line if you need too. Explain to them what is going on. If they value you as a customer then they should be able to do something about it. If you still cannot reach your Travel Agent then I would reccomend finding another one so this does not happen again. I never do that to my customers. They can call me 24/7 and I will call them back ASAP usually about 10 minutes. I may be busy but I value each and every person that I speak to and treat them like a friend. Find someone that will cater to you!

Reputable travel agents make extra efforts to keep in touch with clients since their business is customer service and repeat business and referrals depend upon a good reputation. There was a story in the Dallas News (http://cbs11tv.com/local/Nationwide.Cruise.Scam.2.684046.html) this week about a mother and daughter team that scammed people out of thousands of dollars with fake cruise bookings. You might want to contact your credit card company to dispute the charge (ask to speak to a supervisor immediately and explain the situation; you suspect fraud) and try booking with a nationwide or well known travel agency.

Are you able to go to the Travel Agent themselves? If you are, I would go in there and talk to whomever you need too. Maybe it's just me, but your question seems vague
