What is the best time of the year to take a Caribbean Cruise?

From May to November. I just came back and the weather was warm but, not too warm for swimming in the oceans. I went in late October, and the ocean water was like bath water. I was talking to one of the owners of a oceanside bar and she said she doesn't even go in the water now because its too cold for her. She's the one that told me the other months to go in.

Any time after March it is getting hot. For me, accustomed to the cold and wet of England, mid-March is very enjoyable - warm enough to lie around on a beach, somewhere like St. John, without frying. So if you stick another month onto that, you will be getting closer to husband's requirements.

We're going on our third cruise in about a month from now. We always book it in April because we live in Iowa and that's about the time that the weather is just starting to get nice up here. That way we finally get away from the cold and we get a tan you won't believe before everyone else does. Then when we get back to Iowa it isn't so cold and spring is upon us and it's time to start planting our summer plants to decorate our deck. April is the best time.

February and March are great times in the Caribbean - its past hurricane season and nice & hot! If you get into the summer, its harder to find the itinerary you want on most cruise lines in the caribbean as most of the ships are in Alaska at that time. Throughout the year you have 70+ degree weather in the Caribbean, but pricewise the best times are September-early November and late February-early March.
