How to convince my dad that cruise ship traveling is good?

Cruises are not for old people, in fact there really are not many old people on cruises because of the walking around the ship. Every day on a cruise you see something different and new, this may even include a new country every day, and yes you do get a long time of board maybe from 7am to 6pm, and the cruise does tours and trips out anyway. being on a cruise ship you don't really feel the waves from the sea anyhow, on the cruise themselves there are Pools, Casinos, Restaurants (about 4-5), gyms, kids clubs, teen clubs, discos, lots of shops, and over 18 events. cruises are great for all the family overall!

I particularly like it for a "family" of all ages or friends too. The reason is, each one can be involved in what they like on the ship and you can meet up later. There really is, "more bang for your buck". You can see lots of ports and sights or just stay on the ship and relax. You can be super busy with activities or just be lazy. I would use that as a talking point. Several years back my elderly father and his wife went with us and my brother and sister in law. We all had a great time and each one of us had different activities but we had dinner together each evening. I believe he would really like it. You can tell him I said so. :) Also, one of the very best cruise lines is "Celebrity". You are really treated like one. The food is superb. The people do dress up but you don't have to if you don't want to. Carnival is the one cruise line that caters to the younger crowd...especially the 3 and 4 day cruise.

Most 5-7 day cruises only have one sea day wedged in between shore days. There is sight-seeing, shore excursions, Vegas-style shows, parades, karaoke, casinos, bars, swimming, spas, gyms, food, food & more food. He's probably right..... not much to do ;o)

The old saying was cruising is for Newlyweds and the Nearly Dead... Not any more. However, depending on the cruise line, they tend to cater to different age groups and degree of sophistication. Some are indeed laid back, and some are for families, and some are for more active individuals. One thing you might want to mention is that a cruise is pretty inexpensive for what you get. For about $100 per day per person, you get: Ocean front room with incredible views. Most meals included in the fare. Most entertainment included in the fare. Visit islands that can be exotic, or at least a new experience in life. There is a Cruise for everyone’s lifestyle…If you want a very active cruise you need to pick the correct one. Your dad could be right if he picks the wrong cruise ship. He needs to talk to a good cruise travel agent.
