What should I do if British Airways has lost my luggage?

US Airways lost my luggage...what is my best course of action?

  • I have spent the past two days on the phone with their "customer service" department. To date, the ONLY service they have provided me is to let me wait on hold for a half ...show more

I got best results with USAir when I tracked down their online chat. Satisfaction in less than 5 minutes! Try it! It's on USAir.com but I honestly don't remember how I stumbled on to it--it's not highlighted if I recall. Keep all of your receipts for replacement items!

I worked for US Airways and can honestly tell you that they are notorious for losing bags. Continue to call them and call directly to the airport you flew from and airport you flew to. Good Luck.

Sue them for every penny they got they will not do it again.get your lawyer to send them a letter and tell em what you are going to do, tell them all your jewelry and your £20,000 watche's his and hers rolex £40,000 where in there see how quick you get your case back.

similar case happened to one my my friends recently. she travelled to london and she couldnt find her luggages. she called the airline like you did and waited for a LONG LONG time for responds. after a week or 2, she got really really pissed and called the airline. she screamed and cursed (just don't be nice), and the luggages were at her door the next day. lesson is: do not be nice to those ppl. ask to speak to higher manager if the person you speak to can't help you. the key is DONT BE NICE!!! if your luggages were really lost, the airline has to pay you for your loss. one of my friends got back $1000-2000. you have to list everything that was lost in the luggages. You should at least get something back if not a lot of $$$. If the airline really refuses to help you, call department of transportation or the FAA. be aggressive.

I am sorry as that has to be very frustrating. The best thing I found to do was actually go down to the airport you flew out /in of if possible - all airlines have a baggage service area. Bring your form and speak to someone in person - even if you have to go to the ticket counter. Explain you are getting the run around from 800 customer service. If they still have no answers for you - you can request immediate compensation for toiletries - etc
