In order to have what I am explaining you will need: 7 players on EACH team (14 in total) 1 goal keeper on each team and 6 players on each team. You can also play handball 5 people, with one goal keeper and 2 defenders and 2 attackers. But anyway, to defending. Defending in handball is usually just stay close to the line close to the goal keepers area. With your hands up in the air when the ball comes to you to block the shots.
