What is Handball?

too many people mixing the sports up, the one popular in the US (mainly nyc) is with your hands, a ball and a wall (it doesnt sound right i know) basically you play with two or more people and its kinda like tennis or raquetball except you hit the small ball (again not right) with your hand and hope the other person cant return then whoever racks up the most points wins. there are a lot of variations of it, by changing the number of walls or size of the ball but its basically the same. the other handball is a team sport and mixes up a lot of ingrediants from professional sports but it really is only popular in europe. there a few people on one side and the other they have a heavy sorta small ball they have to carry and they have to throw it to the goal. its kinda like lacrosse but without that stick thingy (again not right). u use leaping ability, speed, technique to get to the goal. am i right?. anyways i like the usa one better cuz all you need is a wall a ball and your hands...............and some oil.........kidding

Team handball while unknown in the USA and the rest of the English speaking nations is actually one of the more popular sports on continental Europe. I doubt many people in Germany or Spain are asking and answering questions on baseball or Nascar. Object of the game: The team that scores the most goals over a period of two 30 minute periods. Been around a long time since the late 1800's where it was developed in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. The indoor version played 7X7 -3 DEFENDERS, 3 ATTACKERS, AND A GOALIE- has been a part of the Summer Olympics since 1972 for the men and 76 for the women. The game requires being able to move at a high speed while executing precise quick passing. You move the ball down the court (not allowed to use your feet) by passing and dribbling, but once you stop dribbling you must get rid of the ball in 3 seconds. Also if your feet leave the ground then you must pass or shoot the ball before you land. The game also has a physical component that allows body checking.

I know handball as two people at a tennis court or a wall ball court. Handball is sort of like tennis or wallball, but with a tennis ball. Handball is so fun, kid me not.

Handball is a huge sport in high school gym classes. Just like dodgeball or pin guard.

handball is like soccer, basketball and, some other sports combined. it was origonaly made for soccar players to stay loose durring the off season. u have two nets on an indoor court, and u dribble and run to the goal and throw it in. its sooo much fun. We played it in my pe class in like 9th grade or sumthin.

i heard of it... i even play the sport handball. Handball is where you play with a wall, small ball and you got to hit the ball to the wall. there are rules to this sport that you would need to know in order to learn how to keep score and play.
