Why do you need to be known overseas? Keep the game here and it will remain unique! Imagine if the USA tv stations had control of the game? You would get so much stopping and starting. The games would be played between the ad breaks like they do with gridiron. Soccer, or association football, is the most popular game in so many countries that they would never change to another game.

It's restricted to a number of states in Australia only. It has cult value in some countries, due to pay TV, but it lives in WA, SA, VIC & Tasmania and the NT to a lesser extent. ACT, NSW & QLD have the two Rugby codes

Just the same as the reason american football isnt played over here. Each country is too proud to play other national sports. personaly i prefer it to be kept in Australia.
