Im about to have a finger amputated so i can continue playing aussie rules. how long will it take to heal?

Ask the doctor that is chopping it off.

I hope you are not joking here at the expense of aussie rules users, because i recently lost an arm in a work place accident, so if you are i take offence. actually i don't want to answer this question.

I am pretty sure there is a player with a finger missing in the AFL. I think a WCE player.

why would you ask that in a yahoo forum? I'd say the doctor that is doing the procedure would know best out of anyone.

Maybe you should talk to your doctor and ask him questions before you go through with it.

i had my left ring finger chopped off in a freak accident when i was 7 and ive moved on with my life without any problems, in fact the stump comes in quite handy sometimes. when i lost my finger it had stitches for three weeks, in a bandage for six weeks and the stump guard came off after eight weeks. it is all worth going through if you want to have a career an afl. let me kno when u have it chopped about how its all going, trust me its not that bad in terms of healing at all.
