they just dont have the forward setup to really scare afl defenses. but, if they really have a good pre season , and unearth 2-3 good young players to complement the older more seasoned players they might squeeze in. but they will need to win the close games and make wells into a genuine player...somehow .....

Not in 2010, but I think they're a real shot in 2011. They have some AMAZING young talent developing (Sandiee - again - check the facts first)... Greenwood, Ziebell, Anthony, Grima all going to be guns, plus they have big Petrie and HMac. Hopefully they can get Wells fit and capitalise in the draft this year and they'll be a fine side. Remember they were probably the worst struck by injuries this year. I heard Brayshaw note that they had about 15 or 16 of their top 22 players missing...

Don't count on it

Not next year. Simply because there young players aren't quite ready to take over the older players. With Warren and Ziebell both getting injured during the season. Maybe a couple of years of good drafting will do them a world of good but I wouldn't expect them in the top 8 till 2012.

with a new coach anything is possible. they are a good team when they want to be but have lacked that killer instinct in the last couple of years. i did honestly think that they where going to relocate to the gold coast but as per usual there base supporters had a big say in that. they will make it if they are good enough barring injurys ok.

They are no where near strong enough and dont have enough young developing talent.

Like Harold said they're kinda gonna have to overachieve, which IS possible considering our history of overachieving, but still not likely. We DO indeed have good young developing talent. North are sold really short by fans and media alike here in WA, the Eagles had a "great season showing great promise for next year" whereas the Roos were "terrible, dismal, etc". That's a mighty big difference in analysis, considering there was only half a win between the teams! I've never seen half a win taken as such a huge difference. We indeed DO have good young talent, some of which was injured for good parts of the year as well, North finished strong with 3 wins in the last 5 games including St Kilda, where the potential really showed, we are a better team than our mid-season eight game (something like that) losing streak showed, at that point the boys couldn't keep up their good work in the fourth quarters, now we seem to be getting better at it. I hope we can make it in 2010 but like Harold said we're probably still a year away.
