How much would a vacation for 2 adults/ 2 small children be from Chicago to New Zealand?

  Check prices for flights, airnz continental qantas but around $6000 for fares car rental from $40 nz day [this would be 5 years old, newer car $70] petrol $2.10 per litre accommodation many camp grounds have cabins or on site caravans about nz$65 to $90 night motel $120 to 150 there are country pubs with accom $100 foood well if you cook your own and buy fruit and snacks , breakfast cereal, allow nz $40 a day eating out ??? anything from mc donalds $30 for 4 to cafes $45, good steak meal $25 each. I suggest max 10 days north island 15 days or more south island. this depends on time of year travelling, try to avoild NZ school holidays. winter in south will not be as cold as chicago but there is snow april to september. north winter some frosts but day temps 12degree C You may consider mobile home [ campervan] will give you a lot more space. may to september are cheapest times 4 berth about $170 day plus fuel and camp fees however there are a lot of sneek in for the night spots and country pub carparks if you go in for dinner or few drinks. hope this has helped , NZ is a beautifull place to visit 1 us $ gives you about nz $1.23
