Where in New Zealand are all the big agricultural places to work?

    Dairy places would be...parts of Northland, Waikato, Taranaki and Southland We don't tend to have maize in the same way that they do in the USA. The South Island high country around Canterbury, Marlborough, Otago are more sheep and have large hillside land, which is dry. I guess Canterbury has more of the large crops...varied types. There are lots of horticultural and viticultural areas which suffer from worker shortages. eg fruit picking and working on vinyards Horticultural areas would be Central Otago, Nelson, Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty? Viticultural would be Marlborough, Martinborough, Hawkes Bay among other areas.

Over the last 10 years dairy farming has become very large (with very large herds involved) in the Southland region. Googe (in New Zealand) Edendale, Invercargill, and Southland. In the last 2 years, the same thing has been happening in South Canterbury and North Otago, Google Clandeboye, Waimate, Waitaki and Studholme, as well as Mainland Dairy, Fontera and Klondike.
