Answer:
As a Business Analyst, one works on following things most of the times: 1. Data Collection: The first and the foremost thing is to collect the relevant data and information regarding the project. The data is either extracted from the database and records of the company or in some cases online or offline research is required. But it is always interesting to get the facts and figures. They reveal so much information. People who have curiosity about discovering new things, find it fascinating. 2. Data Analysis: Once you have extracted the raw data, the analysis needs to be done on it. Different organizations use different tools for these purposes. Using SAS, SAP, ORACLE based tools is a general practice these days. Some organizations also develop their own tools based on the processes and methodologies that they follow while solving the business problems. 3. Business Case: Business Analysts have to work onĀ the business cases most of the times. Although the above two tasks are a part of solving a business case but then there are many other things related to it. Not every time just facts and figures solve the case. One has to be creative, analytical in their thought process and should have enough industry knowledge to come up with excellent solutions. The brainstorming sessions consume a lot of time and energy. It is during these sessions that the solutions emerge and the best one comes up while others get eliminated. This are the main three tasks that Business Analysts get involved in, most of the times. Apart from that they do a variety of learning and fun activities to build their business knowledge along with creativity. How to get a Job of a Business Analyst: You have quite a few ways: 1. You can get the job through campus placements, if the companies visit your college with that profile. 2. You can apply to the consulting companies directly by sending out your resume. But it takes too much time. Specially when you have no experience. Make sure you have some connections in that company. Your seniors or someone else. That way you can expect them to look in to your profile soon. 3. You can go through job sites and apply for Business Analyst jobs. 4. Keep yourself updated and be ready. If any opportunity comes for an interview, nail it. Wish you all the best :)
