    Having something like Model United Nations is GREAT for your college application! On top of that, you'll gain valuable skills in writing, negotiating, communicating.. and you'll learn alot about other countries and the rest of the world. You'll also be able to see first hand how decisions are made on an international level and will probably have to do alot of research if you are representing a country. I joined Model UN my freshman year of high school. I really got into it and decided to major in political science and international studies because of it. If you work hard at it (get awards, hold a position in your club, become a chair, or even attend an international conference) it looks excellent on a college application. They like that you've taken the time to learn about what's going on in the world. Through my Model UN experience I've opened a lot of doors that could possibly get me far in with politics. Plus, you meet a lot of amazing people and have tons of fun! That's always a plus!
