    read news paper and mission statement of each country , and relation to surrounding country. also look at how your country have voted in the past,( look up resolution paper). its a lot of stuff to look up, are you sure if you are not assigned to just one committee? well... good luck.

Go to the CIA's website... www.cia.gov and click on world factbook. THis will give you all the background you need. Other sites that will help you is http://www.un.org/en/members/index.shtml where all the permanent missions are located... they will have policies and speeches by each of their respective countries here. Another site that can help you is Wikipedia... though I would not cite it or tell my teacher that I used it.. it is great help for beginning research.
