The young are confused enough without these violent, sexual videos. There is just so much swearing it becomes very sick. Hyping up sexuality, violence, no respect is not a great idea. But, of course, our young are growing up in a world built upon lies and deceit. Ronnel Petersmith on Facebook

Music videos act as trend-setters for American youth culture. The music industry, as well as the entertainment industry has, for a few decades now, catered to the youth. Experiences with the Beatles and Elvis showed them of the potential waterfall of money that could be made. Did they care about our youth? Heck no! They made more money from moving the bar of normal decency, and have spearheaded a subtle campaign against Christianity for years now. I don't believe, however, that either industry is trying to distract or conspire America, though they do have an agenda. (Mostly left of center people try to interject messages in the programming) In my opinion, the music industry's influence on the black community has been especially dramatic. While the aggregate education level was rising in the black community continuously, this began to decline with the advent of modern rap. The industry considers it entertainment; that the music represents real-life, and it is only an expression of their feelings, but these same messages are regurgitated over and over again in the predominantly socially-preferred genre of rap. It's a classic case of garbage in, garbage out. The message of America, land of opportunity is drowned out by "that's how real life is." ---And the saddest thing. People like Larry King promote these people in the mainstream, while our President Barack Obama lists them as his favorites, further confusing these people. So, it isn't a conspiracy. It's just a few people who want to make money, a lot of "followers" that would rather watch the ship go down than warn the captain out of fear of social rejection, and a generation doomed to be more brainwashed than we are.
