Does the United Nations General Assembly have any real "power" within the UN?

UN: Too big to fail. Is it time to break up the United Nations? Too big to fail for UN?

  • United Nations in New York City USA. UN formed after world war II UN has Not stopped the Korean Vietnam Iraq Afghan. Wars past / now / future. 2008 Economic Recession. ...show more

  • Answer:

You obviously don't realize much about the UN do you? No US citizen has voted for any UN elections because no other citizen of any other country has ever voted in a UN election. Representatives to the UN are selected by the various governments they represent and they officially hold official ambassadorial status. There IS someone in the UN who speaks for you and your countrymen. At this point in time the Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, with the rank and status of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Representative of the United States of America in the Security Council of the United Nations is Susan Rice. She was appointed by President Obama. As to the rest of your questions, they are moot. The UN is not a business and is therefore not "too big to fail". Should there be reforms? I believe so but ultimately it is up to the various governments that it represents.

I think the un actually needs the power to do something by itself instead of asking the USA to do it.

Its time for the US to kick them out of NYC and withdraw. Whatever happens after that is not our problem.
