You can make a business out of recycling but its hard, you need existing infrastructure to break down or melt down whatever is being recycled. If you do not have that existing infrastructure you will have to build it and that can cost a lot of money. Almost anything can be recycled. Matter of fact, I cannot think of anything that can't be recycled in some form or another. A lot of recycling places now a days are specialized, they deal specifically with metals, computers, yard waste, whatever.

Avel, even more important in today's world, is what do we do with all the materials we recycle? Aluminum is reused to make more aluminum products, many other metals can be reused as well. Some of the clever uses of unwanted consumer products are tires which have been shredded to make filler for playground equipment, plastics which become new plastic products, and paper which is reused for many other paper products. Read the packaging of products you use -those that have a reuse already will tell you they are reusable or recyclable. Where is the new challenge? In products that can be reused, but currently has no, or too few, reuses at the moment. Examine products for how you could reuse them. You will eventually think up a product you can turn pre-used products into. Best of luck to you -and to us when your idea goes gold!

Recycling is not and can not be profitable. That is why local cities have to subsidize it.
