If it still runs at all, my first response would be to have it stripped and simply donate it. Social Agencies are aware of families with kids who can't afford one, but could benefit greatly by having one to use because of the emphasis on computers in the schools. Otherwise, return it to where you bought it and they will dispose of it. They may possibly pay you for any reusable parts.

Contact your local authority. They all have facilities for recycling small electrical items. In some areas they'll even collect for free.
