What would the purpose be of a global warming hoax?

Basically, short version? The whackadoodle fringe thinks that because some of the solutions proposed (like carbon taxes) are politically unpalatable to them, the whole *purpose* of global warming was to impose taxes, control energy, destroy capitalism, and turn America into a socialist state. edit: er... long version would basically be just about every post I've seen by, say, Phoenix Quill, Maxx, Sagebrush, et cetera. "Global warming is a religion", "Warmons don't actually care about the environment, they just want to control energy, because if they control energy, they control the economy, and they're all communists", and so on...

People used to study eugenics too. It was a highly and widely held belief, that was for the good of society. Major universities world wide, set up schools to study it, and perform experiments, and make recommendations to carry out the principles of eugenics. Millions of dollars at the time was spent to prove the premises. The greatest leaders of the first half of the 20th century were proponents, and one in particular made sure that the theory was applied to the extreme limit. ln the end, it was taken for what it was, and is now dismissed,

Personally I agree that the globe is warming. BUT I can also see how something like this can acquire its own erroneous momentum. For example, upon the heels of the first Oil Embargo in 1974, a lot of pundits, scientists, reporters and politicians got the idea and accepted it as a fact "based on all the evidence" that we were going to run out of oil in 30 years...in other words, by 2004.

I don't know if you have heard the old song about "The Emperors Clothes? by Danny Kay? In it, because the Emperor bought a suit of clothes from a crooked tailor, which actually did not exist, and the Emperor was actually naked, but because he believed it was real and really great, no one wanted to tell him the truth, so everyone agreed what a great suit it was, until a little boy in the crowd during a procession called out "The Emperors got no clothes", and suddenly everyone started believing what they could see, not what they had been told. So called "Deniers" actually know the truth that all climate changes are a result of tectonic plate movements, earthquakes, and volcanoes, but the mindless few in some Governments, and scientists who get their funding from governments,still won't accept that the Emperor still hasn't got any clothes!

The objectives of the leading environmentalists is to establish a global government and to reduce the population of Earth to under one billion as that number of people is much more easily able to be controlled, for example in China and India. You only have to look at what some of these wackos say to really start acknowledging that AGW is just a lie. It doesn't matter if the science is correct or not, a new religion has been created and people will blindly follow it no matter what, you often hear the non-scientists debate on TV and state that "oh i'm not a scientist, but I believe in AGW", this debate has been clouded in distortion of facts, non-scientists stating lies and real scientists having their work destroyed by the UN. Where are these 'hundreds of thousands of scientists'? I'd like to know. The IPCC can only dig up a little under 100. Can you dig up more? This hoax was brought about because it would be used to create what is known as "carbon credits"or "CC's". A treaty among the nations of the earth, "Kyoto Treaty" was one, basically placed each nation in lists of various levels of producing pollution. Countries like the US being a developed one and a large producer of pollution would be charged a higher amount in "CC's" than China for the same type of pollution b/c China is just becoming a developed nation and is just beginning its industrial revolution. Thus they are allowed to pollute to their hearts content and not worry about "CC's" until their country has caught up to the rest of the world. These "CC's" are sold to companies to be traded amongst gov'ts and on the stock exchanges. The "CC's" would essentially be another currency. How the companies would pay for them would be by raising prices their customers pay, reducing shareholder dividends, reduced employee salaries and benefits and number of jobs a company would be able to hire for and all the other things companies must pay for in order to operate. In other words these "CC's" are what is called a hidden tax because their cost is not seen at the register but dispersed throughout all company expenses. Just like the corporate tax companies pay does. Because no matter how much the gov't says it is making those big evil corporations pay their fair share of taxes, every single penny of the taxes they pay is ultimately paid by the only things that can ever pay any taxes, people. A corporation can not pay tax, only the people who buy the products it produces and the people who work there and the shareholders. The workers (which includes the boards of directors and all management) and shareholders receive less in pay and benefits and the shareholders less dividends and returns on their stock investment. This windfall of huge amounts of money disguised as a corporate tax but essentially a tax on all the people would bring billions, even trillions into the greedy gov't and the banks who back all of it and underwrite all the "CC's". So the huge hoax is done for the one thing that motivates all politicians, money. Believe it or not, this isn't the biggest scam, hoax, fraud by the gov't committed upon the people of this nation. The federal reserve and the US treasury dept. and the fraud of the IRS and the income tax scam is the biggest.
