Why Is Recycling So Important?

  • Why Is Recycling So Important And Should All people Do It To Save The World ?

  • Answer:

    a) there are limited resources and it makes sense to get the most out of them by re-using; b) many plastics do not degrade and remain in the environment for years - like the plastic bag in the tree outside my window; Years ago we didn't have these problems as products were not made to be thrown away after one use!

What is the alternative to recycling? Burning: causes air pollution (particulates, CO2, CO, ash, etc.) Landfilling: Pollutes groundwater (esp. heavy metals), stinks, and we will eventually run out of space to bury (do you want to live on a landfill?) In the long term, if we are not living sustainably we will, by definition, run out of raw materials, disposal space, and pollute ourselves out of existence.

In our country recycling is very important. It was, polythene which is a great problem. Recycling help us to reuse the things we use and also to protect the nature.Recycling, collection, processing, and reuse of materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Materials ranging from precious metals to broken glass, from old newspapers to plastic spoons, can be recycled. The recycling process reclaims the original material and uses it in new products. In general, using recycled materials to make new products costs less and requires less energy than using new materials. Recycling can also reduce pollution, either by reducing the demand for high-pollution alternatives or by minimizing the amount of pollution produced during the manufacturing process. Recycling decreases the amount of land needed for trash dumps by reducing the volume of discarded waste.

It's important because it reduces the amount of products we produce, from natural resources, by reusing products that have already been produced.

It is not that important. More hype than anything.

recycling helps us to reduce waste materials and be able to save natural resources. its a big help to the world

It appears we are all in agreement on this topic. Recycle everything you can. Not because of the over blown GW scare, but because it's good to reuse the products we already created. Think like a Native American respect Mother Earth and all the creatures living on it and Mother Earth will respect you back. If you are a hunter don't just kill the animal as a trophy. Use all the pieces of the animal to enrich your life. So utilize everything provided by Mother Earth wisely.

Because it consumes less resources to recycle existing than it does to produce new and there is less waste to dispose of.

In addition to the other answers recycling also saves energy because energy, usually in the form of fossil fuels, is used to mine metals as well as cut down trees for paper and to make glass so the energy used to get the raw materials isn't needed during the recycling process and it requires less energy to use an already made material and make something else with it then to use the raw material and turn it into the usable material. So over all you are saving a lot of CO2 from going into the air as well as other pollutants.

Reduce...reuse....recycle.
