What are your thoughts on global warming?

My thoughts are that since the Earth's temperature peaked in 1998 and has been decreasing ever since, global warming is a hoax. That's why some folks are now calling it "climate change", because they know that the earth is no longer warming, in fact it's cooling.

The globe warms. The globe cools. Weather is cyclical. There were ice ages before there were cars. There were heat ages before there was industry. Man has very little to do with it. If you took every car in the world off the road that would reduce carbon emissions by less than two percent. Cow farts put more carbon into the air than all of humanity. Having said that I do believe we should be good stewards to the environment. But let's not wrap good environmental policy around flawed science.

1. About 90% of the greenhouse effect is due to water vapour. 2. Excluding water vapour, 97% of the other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are natural. 3. It has not been demonstrated that anthropogenic CO2 is the cause of any warming that has occurred. 4. Our ability to make a measurable reduction in atmospheric greenhouse on a global scale is so far... nil. CO2 levels are still rising. 5. The methods currently proposed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are not globally practised. 6. The methods currently proposed to reduce greenhouse emissions only attempt to achieve reductions so small as to be unmeasureable. 7. The methods currently proposed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are proving to be politically unsustainable. 8. The warming appears to have stopped, yet CO2 continues to rise. 9. There are no sunspots 10. If water vapour is a greenhouse gas AND provides a positive feedback, then why hasn’t the climate had runaway warming in the past? That’s enough to get started with.

If there is such a thing as global warming it hasn't lessened the severity of winter yet. I see this as another scare tactic to get us to change our existence much like the leaded vs. unleaded scam of the 70's. We were forced into buying only unleaded gas with a stiff penalty for those who didn't comply. We paid more for the gas supposedly because they had to take the lead out when lead was an additive all along and didn't need to be added anyway. Just a scam to get us to change our existence to suit "their" desires. Global warming will turn out to be the same.

The so called "Global Warming" is a naturally occurring phenomenon. This planet is actually still coming out of its last ice age. However, the process IS being accelerated by our actions. Is it going to be catastrophic? That would depend on how you look at it. Mass extinctions have happened throughout history, the big question is how are we going to deal with it as a species.

Global warming is more commonly called climate change now. The earth has gone through many climatic changes; and on the whole I think that humans, although we are raping the worlds assets, are but a blimp on earth's history. I heard that it quite often warms up before an ice age, and some scientists say that an ice age is where we are heading. There was a brilliant documentary recently about how the earth would recover well if humans were to disappear suddenly.

i donno my brother runs around screaming 'its not real its just a scam' and my dad swears thats its just a natural reaccorance, someone else told me its the planest megnetic poles changing, time will tell i guess, i dont have thing i can do about it, i dont drive or anything so i guess i'v done my part
