In a persuasive speech, you will want to appeal to the audiences pathos, ethos, and logos. Pathos has to deal with emotions. Ethos has to deal with ethics. Logos has to deal with logic. For pathos, you could argue that if people do not donate to the WWF, then they are allowing some animals to die when they could have been saved with just a little more funding. For ethos, you can be more positive and describe how the WWF uses its donations to help wildlife. Describe somewhat specifically HOW they do this. Give examples of accomplishments made by the WWF or rescue / disaster relief efforts they participated in. For logos, you should argue about WHY it is important to everybody (not just animal lovers) that the WWF get proper funding. The logos section can say things like increased beautification of a once-barren landscape, or how new jobs can be created (rangers, biologists, chemists, etc.). Also, if you can find some information about how certain species rely on other species for survival (such as the Red Knot and the Horseshoe Crab), and that some industries would suffer if either of these species died off. Fisherman rely on the Horseshoe Crab as bait for a variety of catches; especially eel (for use in Asian restaurants). Biomedical companies use the crab's blue blood to test ALL antibiotics before putting them into the market. It is actually an FDA requirement to test antibiotics on the lysate found in the crab's blood. They are not killed in the process and are returned where they are found. The Horseshoe Crab is in danger of disappearing in certain parts of the U.S. due to unrestricted gathering of them for use as bait. Since the Red Knot uses the crab's eggs for food during their long journey from southern South America to southern Canada, the fewer crabs, the fewer Red Knots. I would recommend using the Horseshoe Crab (or something like it) to appeal to the audiences logic (jobs created), and the Red Knots to appeal to both the audiences emotions (nobody likes birds dying off) and ethics (people can do something about it to they don't die off). A lot of this information is in the PBS Documentary I have posted in the sources section. You should watch it, it would make recalling facts very easy if you watch it, and also make your speech more persuasive because I believe it will make you care about the species involved a bit more. Cheers

Well, let's see: they have spokesmen like Prince Philip, who has been quoted as saying that if he were reincarnated, he'd like to come back as a virus that would decimate the human population. They sued the World Wrestling Federation to force the latter to stop using the initials WWF. And generally speaking, they're just a few baby steps away from being every bit as bad as PeTA. Kitten, you've got your work cut out for you. The only chance you have of succeeding with this one is to present your speech to an audience predisposed to supporting WWF.
