Always warm up your voice before you sing! Do different warm up exercises such as breathing , vocal , and stretching. Yes stretching, it helps your body warm up and relax, while getting you in to a comfortable but proper singing position. Never over do your pitch. If you cant reach a high note do not push yourself , it will only strain your voice. Like wise with low notes. Always remember to sing because you want to not because someone is forcing you.

Sit alone for a while and let your voice relax. Then when its time, sing strong and loud. Let your voice out. Pretend to be singing on stage in a concert.
