How do I fry a thanksgiving turkey?

Is it true as you cook your turkey for thanksgiving yuo deep fry it?

Deep-frying a turkey, if done properly, shouldn't absorb any more fat than what would already be in the skin. Of course, a lot of people DON'T deep-fry properly (oil's not hot enough thus it gets absorbed by the bird, oil's too hot and the bird burns to a crisp before it's cooked all the way through). Of course, I prefer a nice oven-baked turkey any day of the week.
