What do you do in your First Singing Lesson?

What did you do at your first singing lesson?

  • Answer:

My teacher introduced herself, and asked what I liked to sing, she then got me to sing along to a song so I wouldnt be so self concious. Then we did scales to see what my initial range was (it was only 2 octaves now it is 3 and a half ) She asked me what I wanted to do in singing, I said diction so she gave me some diction exercises

I was asked to take a backing track with me so that my teacher could assess where I was. We started off with breathing exercises to warm up and then she got me to sing. Once she'd heard me, we looked at some scales. From then on, it was breathing, scales and then singing.

you go into a room and meet your teacher. she or he is REALLY nice (trust me!) she asks you to sing some notes and then she'll get the drift of your voice. you become a lot better in the first two lessons than your whole life. trust me, dont be nervous it is nothing but relaxing!

at mine, the teacher asked me what i would like to accomplish in singing and she asked me questions just to get to know me better. then we basically just did warm up scales and stuff like that.
