The more you practice at it the better you will adapt your voice to work with the higher notes. You have to start finding ways of pushing air out harder and holding your throat muscles in certain positions to achieve notes you didn't think were possible to sing. The best way to figure this out is through trial and error practicing, and I find the best place to do this is to sing along to music in the car where nobody can hear you. The trick is to not be afraid and try belting lyrics out almost to the point of screaming. Experiment with different sounds, try everything, just don't completely blow out your voice (i.e. know when to rest). It took me a few years of doing this to actually find a voice I liked and to acheive good-sounding higher notes. Best of luck to you.

High notes are actually achieved through training. Most people you hear on the radio are digitally edited. Very few can actually hit that consistent high note without damaging their vocal chords. Anyways, onto your question: It would be nice to know if you were a male or female. I can't answer from a woman's perspective because obviously... I'm a guy. For guys, most of the high notes are achieved through hard work and practice. If you warm up correctly and sing songs that are within your vocal range, you will work up to the point where you can reach a half step or so. Also, realize, if you are young (say, teens to 20 years old), most guys are still trying to finish developing their voices. That richness you hear in some singers is something that comes by the passage of time. That means you should not practice that song if you consistently crack your voice on "you". It will only get worse and damage your vocal chords. So in summary, hitting high voices requires patience and practice.

Find your pitch and stay in your pitch, adapt the song to your range...not vice verse. It is important as a singer to learn to adapt to your own vocal range, otherwise you strain your vocal chords.

Could be a number of different reasons. 1) You are not support the note or using enough air. - Too many people try to force a note out useing their throat. It not only make it sound bad but is harmful to your voice. 2) It just isn't in your range. You might be an alto and have a lower range, in which case you should change the key you sing in or pick a song that fits your range better. 3) You are tensing up when you attempt the note. If you get tense in ANY part of your body it can affect your voice. Don't freeze up anything like your throat or Jaw or shoulders or ANYTHING! Losen up and try it. Always warm up and try to find your range, with work you can hit higher note but it does take work!

Everyone has their own range. You have to know yours. Anything outside your range sounds like your forcing it. If you want to expand that range, hire a voice coach. If you try to do this it might do more harm than good. Now sing me to sleep.

It's got to be within your range... If you can't hit the note, sing something else. But if it is within your range, relax your throat. (Yawning before hand is a really good way to do that.) Also, breathing is key. You need to ensure you give your note enough air. By using your diaphram, you can force air over your vocal chords and get the right pitch.

try singing octives.... play a note and try to sing it...start low and work your way up....once you hit a note you cant reach, start over.....there isnt a note you cant reach...its just that you have to train your voice and stretch....make sure you aren't singing from your nose.....o! and breathe from you diaghram

it may simply be out of your range. Keep singing, keep trying. it is possible to extend your range simply practicing... just don't blow out your vocal cords. and watch your pitch, you are probably flat.. especially if you are on the extreme upper part of your vocal range.

lol. Thier are two ways to use your voice. You can use your chest voice which you use when you talk. And then there is your head voice. You will know when you are singing in your head voice when your soft pellet in your mouth is raised.

people are born with these ability to sing high notes, like charlotte church or mariah carey. their voice boxes and lungs are born that way, the way to handle singing really high notes even while breathing. while most people aren't. you can't really force yourself to sing high notes because you might do something bad to your voice box.
