Would it be safe for me and my wife to go on our honeymoon in Greece?

I only just came back yesterday from two weeks in Greece and everything seemed normal if a bit quiet. We did take the precaution of bringing a large amount of cash in case the currency collapsed but that turned out not to be necessary. Life has to go on.

It's not the crisis but the media that terrorize all the tourists... I can ensure you that you will be safe there... There is absolutely no reason to be afraid... We are not pakistan or iraq.

Absolutely. What you see on the news is always the worst stuff. The crime rate in Greece is extremely over exaggerated.

i dont know about walking dark alleys at night...as with any metropolis thats kinda risky . but athens is a safe city for tourists . you just need to keep off Omonoia square at night and the area around Exarchia. Other than that the city is alive all day and all night and firendly too. As for santorini i dont even need to tell you that u dont have to worry about anything there.

Why worry, do we ever have problems with Greeks in Australia?

It is totaly safe.In Santorini you can enjoy a great sunshine ,beautiful seas and tasty foods.There is nothing to worry about.I think you will be able to go,I don't think there will be any strikes.And since it's her dream,it would be great if you 'd make it true :)
