The United Farmers of Ontario (in Canada) said it was a ploy by city-dwellers to have a warmer Thanksgiving. Of course this was at the expense of the farmers who would have to be harvesting. It had previously been celebrated November 6th

Nature is the ultimate force

To the extent it's a celebration of harvest, our harvest is a bit earlier. It's all rather arbitrary though. Doesn't stop either from being a good holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends.

It's nothing to do with the US holiday and pilgrims and stuff, it's more like Harvest Festival.

Don't know, but I hear shoving a can of beer up a turkey's orifice is a real Canadian crowd pleaser. LOL

because america celebrates thanksgiving because the founders of our countery the pilgrims made peace so it has to do with just our country and i have NO clue why canada celebrates it.... in other words its kinda like our 4th of july we celebrate it cause of our independence and they dont celebrate the 4th so ya.....
