What do YOU do/eat for Thanksgiving?

    Well the past few years we have volunteered to help prepare and package meals for senior citizens who don't have family that they will be with on Thanksgiving. This group makes all the food, packs it up, and even delivers it to the people. All of that takes place the whole week of Thanksgiving and in the morning from around 8am-11am or sometimes later or earlier depending on how many meals are needed. After we are done there, my family goes to my grandma's house to eat. Sometimes she just has a little meal right after volunteering for lunch, other times she has a dinner and just has everyone come over around 5pm. I always stay with my grandparents and help them set the table and finish cooking. Some of the food we eat: Turkey Ham Beef Duck(sometimes) Broccoli Mashed potatoes Corn Rolls Homemade mac n cheese Pasta salad Fruit salad Carrots Pumpkin Pie Apple Pie Cheese Cake Green beans Yellow beans .... and there is probably more that I can't think of right now. Also we don't usually have all of the meats listed, just 1 or 2. And sometime we don't have all of the vegetables. But my grandma always over does the cooking and makes way way way more than is needed. (I like it though cuz then we can take left overs home!) I can't wait till Thanksgiving!

Turkey Mashed potatoes Stuffing (and lots of it- can never have enough) veggies (green beans) gravy sweet potato pie (if we have a lot of people) This Thanksgiving I am making Apple Spice Cake with Caramel sauce (making the cake right now actually; smells pretty good.) Sports is watched, kids playing, grown ups conversing and drinking a little wine... All good stuff. Kim

Well let me start off by saying I am super jealous that you have thanksgiving on monday!!!!!!! I am trying to use Halloween as an excuse to make a big ol dinner like that but my boyfriend isn't buying it lol! Now for thanksgiving at my place ... I always start off with deviled eggs and a homemade cheese ball w/crackers for when the guests first arrive. Then comes the .... turkey roast chicken homemade stuffing green beans creamed corn homemade dinner rolls homemade mashed potatoes w/gravy homemade baked macaroni and cheese and then dessert is always .. pumpkin pie and apple pie i have made this same exact dinner almost every thanksgiving for the past 7 years. if i havent made it's because i was deployed overseas. it's a hit everytime!

happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians on Monday. ours is in November. on Thanksgiving. i wake up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. it's on like three or four different channels. i watch that while the turkey and the Thanksgiving food is cooking in the kitchen. then between 12pm, and 2pm we eat the Thanksgiving dinner. after dinner, we put up our Christmas tree. i work at Kmart, so i work and help get ready for Black friday after Thanksgiving.

we usually eat: turkey or ham(we did eat a barbecued pig shoulder once, that was AWESOME!!!) mashed potatoes green beans and corn candied yams or sweet potatoes cornbread dressing deviled eggs pumpkin pie cheese cake or chocolate cake usually all are family that lives near use come over to eat and talk.

This year I think my husband and I are planning to have a dinner consisting of some kind of roast bird for him, a vegetarian main course for me, and probably ice cream for dessert.
