Loads of people prefer crappy pop and indie stuff than good bands like slipknot why?

Because its all a matter of personal taste. It would be a right boring world if everyone liked the same things

Pop music is now aimed primarily at pre-pubescent girls who wouldn't know quality if it fell on their toes. Their only criteria for buying music is if they fancy the singer. That's why Zac Efron, Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys and so on, get proportionately opposite exposure and success in comparison to their abilities. Blame Simon Fuller and Simon Cowell. As long as they are making money they will continue to provide drivel.

Your crap is some one else's seventh heaven. I was the same in my youth. I listened to lots of thrash metal and Motorhead and Metallica. I couldn't figure why any one would appreciate stuff like Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, the Beatles, Oasis or Duran Duran. I guess with age I got a more open mind and a better ear for subtley. I must say though I can't imagine life with out a blast of Slayer or metallica now and then. Don't be so closed minded. Other people are not you and have different tastes and opinions. I say to the good. Keep the faith and live and let live.

People with mature decent tastes tend to like stuff like House. All these silly little indie/emo rubbish is all about image and fitting in with a 'crowd' not about the music itself.

because some people don't have the effort to search for decent music and only go with radio friendly bands even metal heads do it like the people who like slipknot go listen to Lamb of God
