Do programmers born since 1980 still know what a "byte" is?

I wondered because I notice that the term has dropped out of use. (If you're one of those who don't know, it is defined at the Wiki, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte.) PS. Quora software wants to add "David Gilmour" as a related topic. Does this make sense to anyone?
