What do you eat for Thanksgiving?

What are you eating tomorrow for thanksgiving?

  • we all know the traditional food, but do you have any unusual foods that are traditional for your family? tomorrow instead of turkey we are having chicken.

  • Answer:

Soulm- we have had chicken when we had a smaller crowd. Now that we have a larger crowd.... Everyone gets a glass of Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) or sparkling cider to accompany: 1) Mozzarella and fresh tomatoes drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper 2) Fresh bruschetta made with toasted bread, fresh garlic, tomatoes, celery and olive oil 3) A small pasta dish made with fresh tomatoes- usually mini penne or bow tie pasta. Some people decide not to eat this- others who are vegetarian or non- turkey fans eat it with gusto 4) Turkey and stuffing with mashed potatoes and a simple tossed salad (red or white wine, soft drinks or beer) 5) Apple or pumpkin pie with whipped cream 6) Chocolate cake (much preferred by my wife and her friends) 7) My fantastic espresso Whoever comes to my house finds something that she or he likes to eat- we keep the options open. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone... Antonio

I'll be going to my boyfriend's and he insists on turkey. My parents are out of town. I'll be making my mom's oyster stuffing, and regular stuffing for people that don't like oysters. And since I don't like sweet potatoes or that nasty green bean casserole, I am making a great salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, scallions, celery, parmesan cheese.

I eat Tofurkey because I am a vegetarian. My brother and Dad like to eat shrimp. I am not sure if they will have turkey too or not.

Since I'm at my mom's, we're going to have her typical Chinese Thanksgiving dinner (which does vary slightly year to year) - turkey (but cut up into smaller pieces), Chinese greens (like bok choy and others), rice, potato salad, dressing and gravy, roast duck, and Chinese vermicelli (or mai fun). In the past we've had a couple of platters of shiitake mushrooms and king crab, but not this year.
