What should I bring to my first Thanksgiving with my future in-laws?

Make a killer dessert. SO many people bring food, and then there are only a select # of desserts, so I would make a cheesecake, or pie, or anything! If you do decide to make a hot dish--make something full of flavor--any kind of casserole?? A homemade mac and cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, or make some HOMEMADE yeast rolls. You have lots of options, but make something great so it is remembered! If they drink wine definitely bring a bottle too!

Bring something that is a tradition in your family, that way you are sharing a little bit about how you celebrate the holiday. Your grandma's pumpkin pie recipe or your mom's sweet potato casserole. Something that you love and you'll be happy to share with others.

I can give you a great pasta salad recipe or a delicious shrimp linguine recipe. They are both fairly easy too. I can guarantee you that they would be a great hit with his family. Let me know.

Does the host make a suggestion so there are not 20 desserts and no veggies? Work from that.

if u have a honey baked ham around u get one of those hams they are so good i love them or just make an apple pie get apple pie filling out of the can and get the frozen pie crust u know with the pilsbery dough boy on it just kidding but that is what u should bring good luck

If I was you I would ask what you can bring. Don't bring just anything without asking. This family has it's own traditions that I'm sure they would like to continue. Before you bring something that is traditional with your family, ask!!!

You can always bake sweets or bring a pie. There are several easy to make reciepe's or you can offer to make an appetizer if you are going over there hours before the meal itself.

How about waldorf salad? We always have it at Thanksgiving as it's nice to have something a little lighter with all that stodge and it's easy peasy to make.
