How to practice trumpet without a trumpet?

Is their any way to practice the trumpet without a trumpet or a mouth piece? I had to bring both of my trumpets in to the repair shop, and now I have nothing to practice on. Are their ...show more
Answer:

To keep the fingers moving , just run scales your head while fingering along. For embouchure purposes, what I do is get a piece of thin plastic and blow on it. Like how they do on tv to make it whistle. Lol. It keeps your lips in tact and makes it easier to jump right back into your trumpet playing.

geez u must be good if u got 2 trumpets, just hard luck, anyway when i'm not able to practice i just put on some trumpet music (pencil full of lead, birdland, backyard, stuff i've played or easy stuff) and try and see myself playing it and working out the notes, other than that practice fingerings/double tongue/flutter, their is a trumpet app for ipod but i don't know if it's free/any good...

buzz on your mouthpiece go over fingerings in your head as well as using your hand practice different embouchure positions
