What is the awesome Jazz music played in the smoking scene in Animal House?

Can you recommend me any Nice Jazz artist?

  • Is there any cool Jazz artist in recent music scene? I'd like to know house-jazz, or club-jazz taste of artist. I normaly like up-tempo and without vocal. Thanks!!

  • Answer:

You're asking for a recent artist. My favorite current artist is Boney James, a sax player. More toward the techno side is Paul Hardcastle with or without the Jazzmasters, which I also love. Guitarist Chuck Loeb is also very good. I particular like a song of his called Sarao from his album All There Is. And Dave Brubeck is still around but was best known for his 1959 album Time Out - it is probably one of the best jazz albums out there, and it is a must have for any serious jazz aficionado.

sorry, a few of these have vocals in it... but it's pretty good, different... St. Germain - album is called Tourist... there's only a few songs i like on here... 1) Rose Rouge (this one starts off with the album... automatically playing jazz... a guy in it says "Put Your Hands Together" 2) Montego Bay Spleen (this is without singing) just a nice flow of soft, jazz, as if you were on the bay, relaxing/chilling out) 3) So Flute (this is with the flute standing out, has, the fast, soft congos and then comes in with the piano) my fav song... 6) Sure Thing, this is over 6 min long... has a nice flowing beat to it, along with the a guy singing in it, just the same beat and jazz in it throughout the song while he plays his electric guitar) there's other songs, a total of 9 but i really don't like the other songs... St. Germain also has another album out, i'm not sure what it is called and i think it was before their Tourist one Carla Vallet & Yoko Kanno - Fantasie Sign (Ian Pooley Remix), this is in French... Carla Vallet is known for her song, Streets of Tomorrow for one of the Car Commercials, i'm not sure which one... but Streets of Tomorrow is not Jazz. hmmm... The Champs (oldies)... Tequila (i'm sure you've heard of this song... this is between Jazz & Blues I'd say... i'm not sure... it's hard to tell these days... hope this helps you a little bit
