    Think about your voicings carefully. For example, don't voice the whole chord if you don't have to. Try just voicing the 3rd and the 7th. And open up your voicings. If you can. I don't really know, to be honest, I am experimenting with this stuff just now for the first time. I recommend you get a book on it. You can also try transcribing piano solos by greats such as Dave Brubeck and Hank Jones.
