What happened during the jazz age?

What is the jazz age...and whats the difference of the old jazz and new jazz?

    the jazz age comes since the beggining of 1900 ... (more or less) and this age still at this time. Music and everything's in changing, transformation ... aways. And through the years, the musicians have changed their styles of playing jazz. The basically difference about the "old" and the "new" jazz is that the new jazz have some influences of rock, funk and others contemporary music. Sometimes we can call it "fusion". But i believe that there's not old jazz.... the first way of play it isn't worst than the new way... but its just another way... ramonchrystian.rg3.net

The jazz age is when popoluar music AND jazz music were the same thing. So in the jazz age the music reflected the current culture. New jazz falls into different zones but none of it is considered modern popular music. It is often reflective and trying to be like old jazz, or it is smooth and trying to be commercial but having only a small audience, or it is real jazz music played by artists that is continuing to extend the true art form, but still not popular music by any measure.
