What kinda of guitar would be good for jazz?

What are some good jazz songs that have lots of saxophone and bass guitar?

  • Im looking for some modern jazz songs that have saxophones and awesome bass guitar. I love original upbeat jazz too so anything like that would be great! Thanks!

  • Answer:

I could suggest a bunch, but I will only suggest two albums. Scott Colley's Architect of the Silent Moment. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:fxfyxqyrld0e Drew Gress's 7 Black Butterflies http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:jzfqxqysldde Very modern and very good. Also, look out for a new album by Eric Revis. I heard the band live a few weeks ago. Can't wait for the album. Its gonna be good.

You should check out Maynard Ferguson. His songs have saxophone solos and guitar solos. In my opinion, he is the best! He's a trumpet player so don't be surprised when you see a trumpet line. Maynard Ferguson songs Birdland (sax solo) (2:15) Give It One (sax solo) (1:18) Primal Scream (sax solo) (2:23)

Dziwny Jest Ten Kraj by Pink Freud. That might not be saxophone, I'm honestly not extremely familiar with those sorts of instruments. It is a good jazz song though.
