Whats better for jazz, Tenor or Alto sax?

Neither. Bari is way better. Bari has pretty much similar parts to the rest of the sax section but also has cool parts with the trombones and bass

In my opinion, the Tenor Saxophone is a better jazz instrument. It has a better tone than Alto. Jazz arrangers tend to give more written solos to the first Tenor. Alto might be slightly easier to start on than Tenor, because it requires less air and isn't as heavy. But I think overall, the benefits of playing Tenor Sax outweigh the advantage of starting on the somewhat easier instrument.
