Are there any good electronic bebop albums?

What are some albums that marry bebop jazz with orchestra?

  • Answer:

One of my favorites is Dizzy Gillespie live in D.C. with The Orchestra (The was always in italics). The Orchestra was a locally based orchestra acclaimed world wide. The recording I have is on vinyl. Sadly, it was recorded the night Charlie Parker died. The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band lasted for years in a club in NYC playing bop. I'd wager you can find remastered CDs of their many live shows.

i don't know but i like this one, http://www.archive.org/details/bb_minnie_the_moocher there was a time when music was greater with session musicians, i saw the family guy where brian tried to open up a big band club and it flopped, it got me thinking that such a clup could do well. here is the mighty boosh, the song is not be bob but one of the characters in a few episodes does be bop, if not farmiliar with the series there are music videos in each episode.
