The birth of cool is another one of miles' famous albums. It helped transform jazz, you should check it out. Im also a fan of bitches brew and I love the album The Sorcerer, its a little out there but it has some great musicians on it and is really the essence of Jazz.

Well I think you would like Birth of Cool, Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet, Relaxin' With The Miles Davis Quintet, or Steamin'. I don't recommend you get Bitches Brew just yet......listen to as much of Davis's earlier stuff first before you get into his fusion/acid/funk era. If you do decide to buy a compilation, The Essential is a great one to have, also Blue Miles.

I've always been a fan of his early works (50's) Birth Of The Cool (a classic!) Bags' Groove Relaxin' With The Miles Davis Quintet Steamin' With The Miles Davis Quintet The Musings Of Miles Stay away from Essential and any 'greatest hits', you want 'em all. You know you do!
