amy winehouse cant be classed as jazz you might like jamie cullum i suppose but please dont put pop artists like that in the same genre as people like charlie parker, dave brubeck, oscar peterson and all the other greats

I have heard the whole Amy Winehouse album, and it has nothing to do with jazz. Her album is a pop album. Just because there are horns on an album, doesn't make it jazz. Her album is completely pop. I can't think of a single jazz album that is anything like it.

Frank Sinatra [vocalist] Benny Goodman [clarinet player] Kenny G [sax and flute player] Louis Armstrong [trumpet player] Bing Crosby [vocalist] Dean Martin [vocalist] Chris Botti [trumpet player] most of these are the older ones, but they are amazing. I'm not a big fan of the jazz artists today.

Brad Melhdau is a crossover contemporary/ straight ahead jazz musician. Many people who dont listen to hardcore jazz like him. I am jazz musician but I play the real stuff. You might like Gerald Albright, Piece of a Dream, Yellow Jackets, David Sanbourne, Chuck Mangione, Cindy Dulpher to name a few
