Waylon Jennings, singer, song writer, musician... In your opinion what was Waylon's biggest accomplishment?

I think his break from corporate country music is the biggest because he set the stage for muscicians to be themselves and play and sing from thge heart. Country music actually went back to the days when it was truly free and heartfelt. At the time the Outlaw movement started Country music was all slick and polished and hardly sounded country at all.

I think the fact that Waylon didn't bend to the Nashville scene was a great accomplishment in itself! So many today are like puppets and do whatever they are told to do. Not Waylon, though! He dared to be different and because of that he became a real legend in country music. I believe he set the stage for all up-and-coming country music artists. It is a real shame, though, that most of "today's" newest "country" artists don't have the guts to do as Waylon did. Nashville exc's tell them that they are country artists and the newbies just do as they are told. SAD! Waylon Jennings is a true country music icon!!! .........................................

His son Shooter. I love Shooter's music he may not be as country as his Daddy but more country then anything you will hear on mainstream radio. I think Waylon would be very proud of his son.

Honky Tonk Heroes The best country album EVER made! This will turn anyone on to Waylon. It's simple but complicated at the same time. This album sounds like Waylon's playin' right in your own house with his band.

Sticking to his guns and doing it his way. His music has far outlasted the stuff Nashville wanted him to imitate.

Standing his ground and doing things his own way...not letting the high browed big wigs of TRASHVILLE tell him what to do!!! "OUTLAW" fits him to the "T"!
