Can you eat nuts during Passover?

    ok there is some controversy on the whole can/cannot eat peanuts during passover. That is a rabbinical decree that peanuts are kitnyot and cannot be eaten. It is generally accepted now that you can eat peanuts/peanut butter if they are kosher for passover. Nutella is not even kosher let alone kosher for passover, as it contains corn syrup. You can find kosher for passover cashew butter and almond butter if you need to get your fix in. Hope this helps. :)

you can eat nuts. but i'm not sure if nutella or penut butter are kosher for passover. check the container for the symbol, or (if you don't care that much) just check the ingredients to make sure there is no nonkosher stuff in it. but even if the ingredients dont say it, there may be traces of stuff from the machinery.

You can't eat processed foods that contain nuts like Peanut Butter or Nutella. However, you can eat peanuts by themselves as well as cashews and pecans and almonds, etc. The problem is that when you have processed foods you can't tell from the ingredients what they added to the nuts in the way of oils and therefore they can't be certified as Kosher for Passover. I suppose that if you ground your own peanuts and didn't add any other ingredients you could have natural peanut butter and then you'd be okay.

Sure! What do you think is in Charoset!? Peanuts aren't nuts...they are legumes. Legumes are chametz. No peanuts or peanut derivatives.
