How do i tell my piano mom i really want to stop piano lessons?

"Piano Mom, I've taken lessons for two years because you wanted me to take piano. After two years, I think there is nothing about it that really interests me. I would like to stop." That's how. p.b.

THere are many things to learn from music lessons - discipline, extending you attention span, helps with math and science, etc. Your mother means well. You need to figure out why you don't like your lessons. Is it the music genre? Then speak to her.

Break it to her slowly. Start out with something like "Piano is getting boring ... " or simply don't practice as much. She'll figure out that you don't like piano. My mom got really upset, but once I stopped practicing, she understood and is letting me quit at the end of this summer after four years.

I took piano lessons from the time I was six to the time I was thirteen. I was really serious about it for awhile, but then I started getting really into clarinet so my mom let me quit. So...get into another hobby and tell your mom that you just don't have enough time

Playing the piano is such a gift, and that's probably why your mom wants you to continue. She is probably afraid you will regret quitting like so many other people do. But, not everyone is meant to play the piano. We all have our own unique gifts and talents. Tell her you would rather spend her hard earned money on something that interests you and could potentially be a career in the future.

If you were doing piano for 2 years and stopped now it would be hard to continue later. Obviously your mom is very proud that you're playing & wants to see you a professional. But since you're not much interested & lessons are quite expensive I suggest that you tell your mom that you want to do it by yourself just for fun coz you want to spare time for other activities & socialize, then instead of weekly lessons you can get them monthly and play similiar/ low grade pieces alone for let's say half an hour a day so you progress slowly without spending time neither money & without feeling sick about piano. Play just for fun!

Keep on doing it...when your'e older u wont regret it.
