It is NEVER too late to learn a new instrument!.. I think you should start with the basics, simple songs and etudes. Scales are a great thing to learn and practice. Many people hate scales, but they are the BEST way to accell in playing... Before going to this music institute to learn ask them if it is begining or advanced? You don't want to waste your money on it if it is for advanced players. Pop piano means popular music or jazzy songs. They are more up to beat songs with familiar melodies.

if you want to be like Beethoven or Chopin, YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD!!! never ever let somebody tell you that. Just start slow with beginner pieces and pieces that have a lot of repetition. Learn some music theory (note names, rhythms, clefs). the very first real piece of classical music i learned was Bach's Praeludium in C from the first book of the Well Tempered Klavier. Pop piano sounds like improvising on the piano or it could mean jazz piano. Either way, the music is very fun and flashy.

Nope, you can learn at any age. Of course, someone who begins at age four and keeps up with it their entire life will probably be a better pianist than somebody who begins at age 79, but as long as you enjoy it and get what you want out of it, who cares??? There are many good beginning piano books out there specifically written for adults, so you're not alone. Good luck.

It is possible to self learn piano. If you want to be like Beethoven or Chopin you are a little bit to old. However, if you want to learn for fun, and for the beauty of music you are at a perfect age. Pop piano is like Elton John, or any pop or rock tune. I would recommend piano group lessons to begin. If you are really interested you can then take private lessons, or learn by your own. I definitely recommend that you get some classes hope this helps

No you're never too old to play piano. I play it and I'm young. the older you are the better. It's a fun thing to do in your free time. and scientists say it's stress relieving

No-one is ever too old to learn anything. When we stop learning,we die. Go for it!

Absolutely not. You are never too old to learn. The day you stop learning is the day you might as well be dead. Pop piano can be described as, Billy Joel, Elton John. That type of music. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Hope this helps. LoZProd-Producer/Engineer NYC

You are never too old to learn. I self taught myself piano at 25. You'll love it. You will probably need to learn the fundamentals of piano first. You can obtain books from any music store on beginning lessons.
