Can i celebrate kwanza even though i white?

I DONT CELEBRATE KWANZA!!!!?

• everyone in my class asks me if i celebrate kwanza. I DONT. i am from dominican republic and celebrate xmas. have you ever had this problem.

People are curious about the tradition and the possibility that you might be involved with it, that they might get some info or an invitation from you, or perhaps extend an invitation to you. The fact that you celebrate XMAS has no bearing, unless somewhere in your understanding of XMAS you have been convinced that it is wrong for you to develop, appreciate and celebrate consciousness of and connection with your African heritage. Kwanzaa is about recognizing, honoring and celebrating the truth, beauty and goodness of the principles that have served to inspire and stabilize African people throughout our history all over the world, and their potential to play a role in the positive future that we all desire. Sometimes the problem is that there is such an anti-African spirit in so much of the world that too many folks think we have no right to think that we have anything worth honoring.
