Where can I start celebrating Kwanzaa?

Is another year about to go by with no one celebrating Kwanzaa?

  • I do have to ask this, cause I don't know of hardly anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa and I live in what was, until a few years ago, one of the blackest cities in the country

  • Answer:

It kinda went out of style, like Jerri-curl, the Black Panthers, and 8-ball leather jackets.

It may seem to you that no one is celebrating, because those who do are not media hounds, They are people who are serious about their lives and the best way to make the best of life. They celebrate in family gatherings and sometimes in very public places with fairly large attendance. It is estimated that as many as 30 million folks in the U.S. and in other countries celebrate Kwanzaa. If you know and understand and appreciate the tradition, why don't you organize a celebration. If not, peace and love to you any way. Maybe on day . . . For some great Kwanzaa songs try www.KwanzaaYenu.com. Peace.

As far as i know, though an African American holiday, Kwanzaa is ALWAYS celebrated privately AT HOME...never publicly like other, more Euro-centric holidays are (Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, etc.).
