Can anyone tell me what is Kwanzaa?

Can anyone tell me what Kwanzaa is about?

  • I am curious because I am not aware at all of how it started, traditions, or beliefs.

  • Answer:

It's a completely made up holiday. It's an African harvest holiday which doesn't exist in Africa because: 1. It was invented by an American. 2. There are no December harvests in Africa. The holiday was created in 1966 by an afro-centrist in California named Ron Everett who was born in Maryland. He intended it specifically to displace Christmas, part of the "white man's religion". Not only did he make up an African holiday, he gave himself an African name, Ron Karenga, and an African title, Maulana, which means "Master Teacher." Everett chose the word "Kwanzaa" (which is part of a Swahili phrase meaning 'first fruits') because most black Americans were descended from slaves in West Africa. This ignorant fool didn't understand that Swahili is spoken in East Africa, thousands of miles away. According to one writer, "this makes about as much sense as having Irish-Americans celebrate St. Patrick's Day by speaking Polish." Actually, a better analogy would be a member of a Boston Irish street gang creating a holiday for Scottish-Americans to worship a Celtic snowman deity, in Polish, in July. The paranoid Everett, believing that some of his followers were trying to poison him, kidnapped, tortured, and sexually molested two women who were part of his organization. When I say "torture" I don't mean the liberal view of torture such as turning off/on an air conditioner, sleep deprivation, or letting people gag on a few drops of water (i.e. water boarding). Ron Everett and his accomplices stripped the women naked, whipped them with electrical cords, and beat them with a wooden baton. Everett and his friends crushed their toes in a vice and put a hot soldering iron into the mouth of one woman and against the face of the other. They poured detergent down their throats and put hoses with running water into their mouths. Everett was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison, but was released in less than 5 years. The ignorant masses take their marching orders from a paranoid, idiotic, hateful, violent, racist, convicted felon and we're all supposed to dance to his tune for the sake of diversity. Blacks, especially American blacks, have made enormous contributions to society. Their struggle to survive and eventually thrive despite slavery and oppression is both noble and admirable. But creating a history of lies, holidays of division, a culture of violence, dependency, and corruption, and a philosophy of hatred is no way to lift people up. Vietnamese immigrants, speaking no English, who came to America floating on the roof of their houses have achieved more success in less time with no fewer challenges or prejudices, and they required no government handouts nor violent political movements to achieve it.

It is an American thing. Black people in America who do not want to celebrate like their white neighbours make up voodoo stuff and pretend that is what Africans do.

Here's your White House dot-gov invitation and statement of appreciation = 'I send greetings to those observing Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is the celebration of African culture, community, and family traditions. For more than 40 years, millions of people have come together to reaffirm Nguzo Saba, the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. These principles emphasize unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. As people across our country gather to commemorate this seven-day celebration, may we all be reminded that Kwanzaa is an opportunity to celebrate the many contributions of our African American citizens.'

ok, Kwanza is an African holiday around the Christmastime. It is an African tradition to read books to kids in Africa. (That is why we sometimes donate books to Africa.) They also go on a feast to have food sent by a special farm that sends food to the countries in need for hunger and starvation. Also there is a candel (similar to a menorah, but forget name of it.) 3 red and 4 green. I hope I answered your question and you can go to this site:
